Making the American "APPLE" Pie

Making pie with my preschoolers has become somewhat of a tradition over the last couple of years. So as we explored apples and studied the United States of America, we decided that making the "American Apple Pie" might be a good start to our kitchen exploration at school. We had so much fun measuring out each ingredient, putting our pie dough in the pie plates and then filling it with our delicious apple filling and finally topping our pies with pie dough and cinnamon and sugar. And the final product turned out wonderful! Great work kids. Who knew that making homemade apple pie with6 youngsters could be so much fun.

First week of School Fun!

We got started off on a great foot this year. The kids have all been amazing. I can already tell how smart this group of students are. It will be great watching their progress and seeing them get ready for Kindergarten. Take a peak at our amazing group of kiddos.

The first week of school has been filled with assessments, getting to know you activities, and loads of fun free time moments and learning activities. Puzzles seem to be the big hit right off the bat (but then they usually are).

We also began learning about the United States of America. This is our first stop on our travels around the World. The kids are learning the Pledge of Allegiance, and why our American flag has so many stars on it.

We have also had the opportunity to pull out the Books on Tape and have a little fun with the "BIG" headphones.

This year will be a great learning opportunity for your child. Take the precious moments you have when they get home and have them tell you what they did during school. They love telling you all about their fun day. Looking forward to a wonderful school year with a great bunch of students!

Mexico Here We Come!

Miss Heather took us for quite the ride as we toured through Mexico. We started off by celebrating Cinco de Mayo! Miss Heather made each of us serapes and had brought Sombreros for each of us to wear to complete out Mexican outfits. We felt as though we were in the heart of Mexico mingling with the locals. What an amazing month we had learning about Mexico.

It seemed as if EVERYONE was joining in on the celebration!

Australia

We had so much fun learning about Australia. The kids really enjoyed hearing about he different animals that reside in the Australian Outback and hearing about the cultural differences.
