Another Day of PIE making

Our Pre-K students seemed to be pros at making Apple Pie.  They helped first by coring, peeling, and slicing the apples.
Then everyone added an ingredient.  I missed pictures on that part (sorry).  Then it was time to stir it all together.
Finally, it was time to add the pie filling to the pie crust.
Finally the pies are ready to go into the oven.  These kiddos were so proud of their pie making skills.  And a bonus that they turned out beautiful and yummy!

It was a great day for making PIES!

Apple Pie Day 2012

APPLE PIE DAY!

I just love Apple Pie Day at school.  I started this tradition about 4 years ago and the kids loved it so much that I had to continue with it.  Each of the kids got to help by using our apple corer, peeler, slicer.
They then each had an ingredient to add to our pies.
And then each took a turn stirring in our yummy ingredients.
Next it was time to fill the pie tins up with the apple mixture.
Lastly, we put the tops on (which became a crazy moment and I didn't get any pictures) and then the beautiful little apple pies made their way into the oven.
Just waiting!  Hoping those apple pies will be ready soon!
They turned out beautifully and they tasted even better.  Such little chefs we have around here.
